Limited Editionbobbleheadcommemorating the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s six football National Championships are now available exclusively from the National Bobblehead HOF and Museum.
MILWAUKEE, Wi.,October 17, 2017 – – Today, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museumunveiled a Limited Edition bobblehead to commemorate the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater’s six football National Championships. The bobblehead features Whitewater’s mascot, Willie Warhawk, on a logo-shaped base with six replica National Championship trophies.
The bobbleheads, which are individually numbered to only 216, are only available in the National Bobblehead HOF and Museum’s Online Store. They are $40 each and are in stock now.
The Warhawks won the NCAA Division III Football National Championships in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014 and have had a strong tradition of football dating back to 1889 when the school fielded its first team. Over the years, the Warhawks have made 13 NCAA Division III playoff appearances, going a combined 48-8 in the postseason. The teams have racked up 35 conference titles in the process and the program has established itself as one of the nation’s best.
Whitewater claimed its first title in 2007 by defeating Mount Union College 31-21 in the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl in Salem, Virginia and finishing the season 14-1. Mount Union became a familiar opponent for the Warhawks in the National Championship game, and the Warhawks won five more matchups against at the Raiders at the Stagg Bowl. Most recently, in 2014, the Warhawks capped off an undefeated season by beating Mount Union 43-34, claiming their sixth national title in eight seasons and making the schools ninth trip to the title game in ten years.
