UK men’s basketball Kentucky Bobblehead will be released again this summer By meagan.sklar

UK men’s basketball fans clamored to get their paws on a limited edition Wildcat bobblehead commemorating the team’s eight NCAA championships that were released Tuesday.
After less than a day on the market, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s online store sold out of 216 UK bobbleheads, so they have decided to sell a second edition in the summer.

The Kentucky Bobblehead is a part of a series honoring 12 of the 15 Division 1 Schools that have won multiple NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championships, according to a press release.
Out of the 12 schools featured in the series, UK held the most championships, followed by the University of North Carolina Tar Heels with five. The UCLA Bruins, who lack a bobblehead due to a licensing issue, have 11.
Museum officials were not surprised by the model’s popularity. The UNC, Villanova and Louisville Bobbleheads also sold out quickly.

“Given the excitement for basketball in the state of Kentucky and the response we saw for the Louisville Bobblehead, we don’t expect these to last long,” museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said.
The bobblehead features a Wildcat mascot dressed in a blue jersey, holding two replica trophies, surrounded by the remaining eight trophies in front of a banner listing the championship years. The second Wildcat, in an alternate white jersey, is on presale for a release in July.
