  • On Monday, January 20th, No. 8 Ohio State captured the program’s ninth national title with a 34-23 victory over No. 7 Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff National Championship before a crowd of 77,660 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. It was the second-largest crowd in CFP championship game history.
  • The title marked the ninth national championship in program history and the first since 2014 for the Buckeyes, who made their sixth CFP appearance this season. In the first expanded 12-team College Football Playoff, the Buckeyes outscored their four postseason opponents by a combined score of 145-75.
  • Ohio State built a 31-7 lead midway through the third quarter as Offensive MVP Will Howard threw a pair of TD passes. His 56-yard completion to Jeremiah Smith led to a game-clinching field goal by Jayden Fielding after Notre Dame cut the deficit to 31-23. Quinshon Judkins rushed for 100 yards and scored three TDs (two rushing). Linebacker Cody Simon was named the game’s Defensive MVP. “There was a point where there were a lot of people who counted us out and we just kept swinging and kept fighting,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said on the field after the game. “It’s the reason why you get into coaching …see guys overcome things, learn life lessons, and reach their dreams. That’s what happened tonight.”
  • “Bobbleheads are the ultimate way to celebrate a team’s championship, and these bobbleheads will be the ultimate way for Buckeyes fans to commemorate Ohio State’s 2024 CFP national championship,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “We’re excited to be unveiling two bobbles celebrating Ohio State’s ninth football National Championship. These will be must-haves for Ohio State fans, alumni, students, faculty, and staff!”
  • The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st. St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019.
