This morning, in conjunction with the 2024-25 college basketball season, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled a first-of-its-kind Marquette Golden Eagles Top 25 Ranking Tracker Bobblehead. Marquette is currently ranked #15 in the AP Top 25 and #15 in the Coaches Poll. Marquette has gotten off to a 5-0 start and is headed to the Bahamas to take on Georgia on Saturday, November 23rd.
The unique bobblehead will let fans change the teamโs ranking each week for many years to come. The officially licensed bobbleheads are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of Marquette University.
- Released in conjunction with the 2024-25 college basketball season, the bobbleheads are now available in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museumโs Online Store at this link.
- The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in April, are $40 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
- Each will be individually numbered to 2,024.
- Standing on a basketball court base, the Iggy the Golden Eagle bobblehead is positioned on a numbered block that can be adjusted when Marquetteโs ranking changes. Iggy is also holding a basketball with the Marquette Golden Eaglesโ logo.
- Formerly known as the Warriors, Marquetteโs nickname change to Golden Eagles came in May 1994 to address the schoolโs Native American name controversy. Iggy was introduced as the name of Marquetteโs golden eagle mascot in August 2020. He is named after St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus. โThe name Iggy had come up multiple times over the last few years and the departmentโs leadership felt like it was a great fit, tying in St. Ignatius and the universityโs Jesuit tradition,โ Senior Associate Athletic Director for Communications Scott Kuykendall said at the time.
