Kamala Harris and Tim Walz 2024 Presidential Candidate Bobbleheads Unveiled

MILWAUKEE – This morning, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled limited-edition Kamala Harris and Tim Walz 2024 Presidential Candidate bobbleheads. Earlier this week, Vice President Kamala Harris chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate on the Democratic ticket in the 2024 United States presidential election. The bobblehead featuring Walz and Harris joins previously released bobbleheads of Donald Trump and JD Vance. The special edition bobbleheads are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.

The bobbleheads are only available through the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store. They are $30 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order and are expected to ship in December. On a red, white, and blue star-shaped base bearing their names, the bobbleheads feature the smiling candidates waving with replica yard signs on the base.

Kamala Harris is the 49th vice president of the United States and is currently serving with President Joe Biden. She is the first woman, the first Black American, and the first Asian American to hold the post. She had previously served in the U.S. Senate (2017–21) and as attorney general of California (2011–17). In July 2024, following his poor performance in a nationally televised debate with Republican candidate and former president Donald Trump, Biden abandoned his bid for reelection and endorsed Harris as the Democratic Party’s nominee in the presidential election of 2024. In early August, Harris was officially named the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee following her victory in a virtual vote of party delegates.

On Tuesday, August 6th, Vice President Kamala Harris chose Walz as her running mate in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Harris initially considered nearly a dozen candidates before zeroing in on a handful of final contenders and ultimately tabbing Walz. Later that night, Harris and Walz appeared together at a rally in Philadelphia before spending the next five days touring critical battleground states. Called on to help unify Democrats, the affable Walz is joining Harris on the ticket during one of the most turbulent periods in modern American politics. Harris, who wanted someone with executive experience who could be a governing partner, hopes Walz will help her shore up her campaign’s standing across the upper Midwest, a critical region in presidential politics.

The Gopher State’s 41st governor assumed office on January 7th, 2019. In March 2017, Walz announced that he would not run for re-election to Congress and instead run for Governor of Minnesota, and on November 6th, 2018, Walz was elected to the governorship. Born and raised in Nebraska, the 60-year-old Walz enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1981 and served over a 24-year career. In 1989, he earned the title of Nebraska Citizen-Soldier of the Year. After a deployment to Italy, Walz was conditionally promoted to command sergeant major. Walz then resumed his teaching career at Mankato West High School in Minnesota where he was a geography teacher and football coach.

Walz decided to run for Congress in 2006 and beat six-term incumbent Gil Gutknecht in the general election with 53 percent of the vote. Upon his swearing in, Walz was the highest-ranking retired enlisted soldier ever to serve in Congress. Walz was then re-elected in 2008 with 63 percent of the vote, becoming only the second non-Republican to win a second full term in the district. He won a third term in 2010 and was re-elected in 2012, 2014 and 2016. In the race for Governor of Minnesota, Walz, who ran on the theme of “One Minnesota,” soundly defeated Jeff Johnson by more than 11 points. In his inauguration speech on January 7, 2019, Walz, a longtime supporter of veterans’ issues, spoke about education and healthcare reform.
