This morning, to celebrate the start of the 2024-25 school year, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled an officially licensed Fresno State University Bobblehead featuring Fresno State’s mascot TimeOut. The bobblehead joins previously released bobbleheads featuring Fresno State’s live Bulldog mascots, Victor E. Bulldog III and IV.

Over the next two weeks, we are unveiling our back-to-school bobblehead collection, and we’re excited to have Fresno State included. The officially licensed bobbleheads are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of Fresno State University.

  • The bobbleheads are now available in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store at this link.
  • The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in December, are $35 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
  • Each bobblehead is individually numbered to 2,024.
  • Standing on a base with Fresno State’s “Bulldogs” logo across the front with a backing featuring the Fresno State logo, the TimeOut bobblehead is making the #1 sign with his right hand while wearing a Fresno State jersey.
  • In 1921, Fresno State student body president Warren Moody and friends were continually greeted outside the main campus building by a white bulldog and the group decided to make him the college’s mascot. In a student body meeting, a motion was made to adopt “Bulldogs” as the official nickname. On November 21st, 1921, the Morning Republican (now Fresno Bee) first referred to Fresno State as the “Bulldogs.” In 1981, the Bulldog mascot character seen today was created and given the name TimeOut. Gary Johns served as the first costumed mascot that year. He said the name was taken from the Timeout Boosters Club. Victor E. Bulldog IV is the school’s live mascot. He was introduced in fall 2022 and took part in a ceremonial passing of the collar in spring 2023.
  • “We’re excited to unveil this new Fresno State Bulldogs Bobblehead in conjunction with the start of the new school year,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “This bobblehead will be the perfect way for Fresno State fans, alumni, students, faculty, and staff to show off their school pride!”
  • The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st. St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.
