This morning, to celebrate the start of the 2024-25 school year, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled the first Northeastern University Bobblehead featuring Northeastern’s live King Husky, Moses. The fall semester for Northeastern began earlier this week on Wednesday, September 4th as students, faculty and staff returned to campus for the new school year.
Over the next two weeks, we are unveiling our back-to-school bobblehead collection, and we’re excited to have Northeastern included. The officially licensed bobbleheads are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of Northeastern University.
- The bobbleheads, which are the first to feature Northeastern’s live King Husky mascot Moses, are now available in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store at this link.
- The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in September, are $30 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
- Each bobblehead is individually numbered to 2,024.
- The bobblehead features Moses standing on a Northeastern University logo base that reads “Northeastern” and “Moses” on the front.
- Northeastern debuted the Siberian husky as the school’s official mascot and school’s nickname on March 4th, 1927. Northeastern traces its first live dog mascot, King Husky, back to 1927, and a trio of huskies have served as the reigning live mascot, King Husky VIII, since 2005. From the 1950s to the 1990s, Northeastern also crowned two students King and Queen Husky as part of Homecoming festivities. The winners received the dubious honor of wearing husky-shaped paper mâché heads at events. Northeastern discontinued that tradition in the late-1990s. The university introduced its popular costumed mascot, Paws, in fall 2003. He began appearing at games during the 2004 winter sports season.
- Classes for the 2024 fall semester at Northeastern University began earlier this week on Wednesday, September 4th.
- “We’re excited to unveil the first bobblehead of Northeastern University’s live King Husky mascot, Moses, in conjunction with the start of the new school year,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “This bobblehead will be the perfect way for Northeastern fans, alumni, students, faculty, and staff to show off their school pride!”
- The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st. St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.
