Baseball: Fort Myers Miracle to distribute free bobbleheads at five games this season By Dave Osborn
Five unique baseball collectibles await fans at five Fort Myers Miracle games this season.
The minor-league team will distribute bobbleheads of past players at five Saturday home games.
Every Saturday in 2018 has been dubbed “Giveaway Saturday,” when Miracle fans have an opportunity to take home bobbleheads, a replica of Hammond Stadium, a beach bag, soccer scarf, backpack, team jersey and more.
Each bobblehead features Miracle alumni who advanced through the Minnesota Twins’ minor league system to reach and star in the Big Leagues.
“Our bobblehead giveaways are among the most popular promotions we sponsor all year,” said Chris Peters, president and general manager of the Miracle, in a news release.
“Four of our five bobbleheads this year are on the Twins’ active 25-man roster, and the other — Torii Hunter — is a Major League Baseball All-Star who spent 12 of his 19 years in the majors with the Twins.”
Bobblehead supplies are limited, so Miracle fans are encouraged to arrive early at the following 6 p.m. Saturday games: April 14: Brian Dozier (presented by Nathan’s Famous); May 19: Joe Mauer (presented by Florida Community Bank); June 30: Jose Berrios (presented by Achieva Credit Union); July 21: Torii Hunter (presented by Millennium Physician Group); and Sept. 1: Byron Buxton (presented by Alorica).
