This morning, to celebrate the start of the new school year, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled an officially licensed United States Military Academy Bobblehead featuring the Army’s mascot The Mule. The United States Military Academy Bobblehead joins dozens of other new college bobbleheads that we’re unveiling throughout the month of September to celebrate the new school year, and we’re excited to have Army included. The officially licensed bobbleheads are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of the United States Military Academy.

  • The bobbleheads are now available in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store at this link.
  • The bobbleheads, which recently arrived and ships now, are $35 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
  • Each bobblehead is individually numbered to 2,024.
  • Standing on a base that reads “Black Knights” across the front with a backing featuring the Army logo, the Army Mule bobblehead has his arms in a flexing pose while wearing Army shorts.
  • The tradition of mules as mascots for Army dates to 1899 when an officer at the Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot decided that the team needed a mascot to counter the Navy goat. Mules were an obvious choice, as they were used as haulers for Army gear for generations. The current Mule Corps consists of Ranger III, Stryker, and Paladin. All three came to the academy as a gift from Steve Townes of the Class of 1975. The Mules serve not only as West Point’s mascot, but also as the mascot for the entire United States Army.
  • “We’re excited to unveil this new United States Military Academy Bobblehead in conjunction with the start of the new school year,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “This bobblehead will be the perfect way for Army fans, alumni, students, faculty, and staff to show off their school pride!”
  • The new bobblehead joins the previously released Army vs. Navy Rivalry Bobblehead, which was unveiled ahead of last year’s game between the two teams.
  • The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st. St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.
