A collector who has about 500 bobbleheads is putting on Bobblepalooza in New Berlin By Hannah Kirby

John Jastroch, the organizer of Bobblepalooza, got his first bobblehead, Milwaukee Brewer Cecil Cooper, as he entered Miller Park for a game in 2007. “I was addicted ever since,” he said.

In just over 10 years, the New Berlin native’s collection has grown to about 500.

He attends Brewers, Bucks, Admirals, Lakeshore Chinooks and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers games based on bobblehead giveaways. “I try to go to all of them,” he said. He makes it to over 50 a year.

“You get to go to the game, see the game, but you also get a bobblehead,” he said. “It’s something extra.”

If he can’t make it to one of the giveaways, he tries to find the bobblehead he missed on Ebay or through Facebook.

The majority of his collection is stored in plastic totes, but about 40 are on display in the loft of his Burlington home, including one of himself, which his wife, Heather Jastroch, gave him for Christmas. In the future, he said he hopes to get a large display case that would fit all of them in his basement.
