Baffert bobblehead in Churchill’s ticket deal

From courier-journal – Ticket sales for all Churchill Downs race days in 2016 other than Derby and Oaks, which are already on the market, go on sale Friday — and with extra incentive to purchase early.

The track will until March 1, or while supplies last, include a bobblehead of trainer Bob Baffert holding the Triple Crown trophy with purchases of a six-person box for Derby week racing. Churchill’s April 30 opening night kicks off the Spring Meet, while boxes bought Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of Derby week also qualify for the bobblehead giveaway.

After Derby, racing at Churchill resumes its normal Thursday through Sunday weekly calendar through July 2. The same applies Sept. 16-Oct. 2, and Oct. 30-Nov. 27 the track opens Wednesday-Sunday.

“Downs After Dark” dates are June 18, July 2 and Sept. 24, while Twilight Thursdays return in the Spring and September meets featuring dollar beers, food trucks and a 5 p.m. first post time.
