Baysox bobblehead gives glimpse of Babe Ruth as an Oriole

Back in February, the Bowie Baysox announced that they were partnering with the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum to give out bobbleheads of Ruth wearing his 1914 Baltimore Orioles minor league jersey.
On Monday, the Baysox released a photo of the bobblehead, which will be given to the first 1,000 fans ages 13 and over at Prince George’s Stadium on Sunday, July 19. The bobblehead depicts Ruth in his gray Orioles uniform with a blue and white ‘B’ patch on his left sleeve. It is the first of its kind, according to the Orioles’ Class AA affiliate.

Ruth signed his first professional baseball contract with the Orioles of the International League in 1914. The Baltimore native pitched for the Orioles for a few months before financial difficulties caused by the arrival of the Federal League’s Baltimore Terrapins forced Orioles owner Jack Dunn to sell Ruth to the American League’s Boston Red Sox.
The Baysox will celebrate Orioles Pride Day on July 19 by wearing their parent club’s uniforms.
