First Texas A&M Commerce Bobblehead Unveiled for Back-to-School

This morning, to celebrate the start of the 2024-25 school year, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled the first Texas A&M Commerce Bobblehead featuring the school’s mascot Lucky the Lion. Over the next two weeks, we are unveiling our back-to-school bobblehead collection, and we’re excited to have Texas A&M Commerce included. The officially licensed bobbleheads are being produced by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, an official licensee of Texas A&M Commerce.

• The bobbleheads, which is the first of Texas A&M Commerce’s mascot, are now available in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum’s Online Store at this link.
• The bobbleheads, which are expected to ship in December, are $35 each plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
• Each bobblehead is individually numbered to 2,024.
• Standing on a base that reads “Lions” across the front with a backing featuring the Texas A&M Commerce logo, the Lucky the Lion bobblehead has his arms raised while wearing a No. 89 Lions football jersey.
• Formerly known as East Texas Normal College, the school played its inaugural football season in 1915. Founding ETNC president William Leonidas Mayo was initially against football, objecting largely on the grounds that the sport was too violent and dangerous. Nonetheless, the president’s son, Marion Mayo, quietly organized a team that practiced off campus with the support of his mother. Later, Lucky the Lion was selected as the mascot as a player on the founder’s middle name Leonidas. According to the school’s website, “Lucky the Lion is an important ambassador for the university. His role is to reflect our school pride, personify the A&M-Commerce brand, and engage the community.”

• The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, which is located at 170 S. 1st. St. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, opened to the public on February 1st, 2019. The HOF and Museum also produces high quality, customized bobbleheads for retail sale as well as organizations, individuals, and teams across the country.
