  • On Saturday, April 20th, at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, LSU captured its first-ever gymnastics national title and became just the eighth program in NCAA history to win the women’s gymnastics crown.
  • The Tigers finished with a team score of 198.225 to defeat California (197.850), Utah (197.800), and Florida (197.4375). LSU led through two rotations, lost its lead to Utah, and reclaimed the lead after a strong finish on the balance beam. In the fourth and final rotation, five Tigers scored a 9.9+ as Konnor McClain posted a meet-best score of 9.9625. The LSU beam team’s score of 49.7625 was the highest score in program history and an NCAA Championship record. Led by her meet-best score of 9.95 on vault, LSU’s Haleigh Bryant, who won the 2024 NCAA all-around title earlier in the week, tied for top all-around honors with a 39.7125. β€œIt means an awful lot,” fourth-year coach Jay Clark said after the Tigers won the 52nd title in the history of LSU Athletics. β€œThis is a great group. I’ve been very proud of how they’ve gone about their business all year long. We’re blessed. We’re fortunate to have great kids.”
  • “Bobbleheads are the ultimate way to celebrate a team’s championship, and this bobblehead will be the ultimate way for Tigers fans to commemorate the LSU women’s gymnastics team’s 2024 National Championship,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. β€œWe’re excited to be unveiling a bobblehead celebrating LSU’s first gymnastics national title. This will be a must-have for fans of the LSU Tigers!”
