Detroit Tigers World Series champions bobblehead unveiled By

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum unveiled an officially licensed bobblehead commemorating the Detroit Tigers four World Series Championships. The bobbleheads, which are individually numbered to only 360, are only available in the National Bobblehead HOF and Museum’s Online Store. This is the first World Series mascot bobblehead for the Tigers and commemorates the team’s titles in 1935, 1945, 1968 and 1984. The bobbleheads, which were produced exclusively for the National Bobblehead HOF by FOCO, are $40 each with a flat rate shipping charge of $8 per order.
The bobblehead features the Tigers’ mascot, Paws, holding two replica World Series trophies and standing on a base in the shape of the Tigers’ logo which has two additional replica trophies on it. The bobblehead features a commemorative backing that lists the years of the Tigers’ championships. The Tigers, who were founded in Detroit in 1894 as a member of the minor league’s Western League and became a charter member of the American League in 1901.

The Tigers first World Series title came in 1935 when the team led by four future Hall of Famers, Hank Greenberg, Mickey Cochrane, Goose Goslin and Charlie Gehringe, defeated the Chicago Cubs four games to two. formed in 1883, are the oldest, continuous, one-name, one-city franchise in professional sports. The 1945 Tigers, led by Hank Greenberg and Hal Newhouser, again defeated the Cubs in the World Series, this time by a four game to three margin. In 1968, the Tigers came back from being down three games to one to defeat the defending Champion St. Louis Cardinals in Game 7 in St. Louis. The 1984 team led their division from wire-to-wire, a feat that hadn’t been accomplished since the 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers and beat the San Diego Padres four games to one to capture the team’s fourth Championship.
This bobblehead is part of a special series produced exclusively for the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum by FOCO to commemorate MLB World Series Champions. Bobbleheads featuring World Series Champions and their mascots were not produced until 2001, and no bobbleheads have been produced commemorating all championships for each franchise. The St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Red Sox bobbleheads were released in 2017, while bobbleheads commemorating the World Series titles for the Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals, Miami Marlins, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, Oakland Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Francisco Giants and Toronto Blue Jays were unveiled earlier this year.
